The WSA™ Show to unveil Pantone's New Fashion Colors, Consumer Trends for Footwear and Accessories Industry
Footwear & Accessories Business Conference Seminars™ to Provide New Insights During The WSA Show, Feb. 1-4, Las Vegas
Encino, Calif. – An early view of PANTONE’s color palettes and other style trends that will influence the 2007 fall/winter season will highlight The WSA Show’s Footwear and Accessories Business Conference™, a series of seminars available to the 36,000 participants attending the largest footwear tradeshow in the world. The nine Conference seminars, which cover key consumer and business information, take place at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas during The WSA Show’s semi-annual marketplace Feb. 1-4. “Buyers and retailers need information to provide the context for all the products they have an opportunity to view at The WSA Show,” said Diane Stone, chief operating officer of The WSA Show. “The seminars we offer provide this view to the footwear and accessories industry. Each one features an expert with a unique perspective critical to the decisions buyers need to make.”
On Feb. 2, Tod Schulman, vice president of PANTONE fashion and home, will appear as the Conference’s “Trend Lunch” speaker to unveil eight new color palettes for the coming fall/winter season. PANTONE is respected worldwide as the organization that develops color trends for fashion; Schulman sits on PANTONE’s color forecasting panel and is a member of the American Color and Trends Committee
Calling the 2007/08 color planner “Metamorphosis,” Schulman will share PANTONE”s predictions for a season of change, transformation, mutation and shift in the world of color “While there are no rules to follow in the traditional sense, designers can look for that breath of fresh air without being afraid that they've missed something,” he notes. “For next year it's about creating fresh concepts and fresh solutions by taking a fresh approach.”
Earlier that day, the Conference will present noted analyst Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst of the NPD Group and frequent media spokesman, as the “Trend Breakfast” speaker to address consumer trends. Cohen will address consumer purchasing decisions, buying patterns, and brand importance and loyalty,
On Feb. 3, the Conference will highlight Generation Y consumers, those aged 27 and younger who comprise 15% of the U.S. workforce. These consumers, whose influence is growing as they move up the corporate ladder, operate differently from
their predecessors. How differently is the subject of Anne Obarski’s seminar on identifying and reaching Generation Y’ers. Obarski, executive director of consultting firm Merchandising Concepts, will reveal the six critical traits of the Y generation, their influences, and their turn-offs.
