Global Investors Workshop To Explore Cutting-Edge Asset Management Strategies, 26–30 June
Joint CFA Institute- INSEAD Event Uses Case Studies For Insights Relevant To Valuation and Portfolio Construction
LONDON, UK - The next generation of investment decision makers will gather in Fontainebleau, France, this summer — from Monday, 26 June to Friday, 30 June — for what has become an annual landmark in the international business calendar: the Global Investors Workshop.
The rigorous five-day course, held jointly by CFA Institute and INSEAD, is a unique opportunity for emerging leaders in the investment community to learn about the latest theories and techniques in asset valuation, portfolio construction, and investment firm management. Participants work together to put cutting-edge theories into practice. In its fifth year, the workshop is well established as the forum for innovative new investment ideas and an essential experience for those senior executives who will develop the global capital markets of the future.
“What is unique about this workshop is that it is case-based and practice-oriented,” said Programme Director Professor Bernard Dumas. “The executives who attend develop a deeper understanding of the key concepts in investment management through real examples. These cases help them to analyse the financial implications of their decisions. Our programme goes beyond traditional asset management approaches to explore how tomorrow’s successful investment management firm should itself be managed.”
The workshop combines:
• Case-based sessions, which challenge participants to recognise and analyse the use of specific investment strategies in market situations;
• Research insights and industry-specific sessions, which apply the latest academic research to decision making; and
• Study groups, where executives pool their own experiences and expertise to prepare for the next day’s discussions.
Industry speakers confirmed so far for this year’s workshop include Jean-Louis Nakamura, Chief Investment Officer, Fonds de Réserve pour les Retraites, Jerome Booth, Head of Research, Ashmore Investment Management, and Peter Clarke, Deputy Group Chief Executive and Group Finance Director, Man Group plc.
Global Investor Workshop 2006 will be held 26-30 June at the INSEAD campus in Fontainebleau, France, 65 km south of Paris. To participate, contact Sonia Tatar, INSEAD: sonia.tatar@insead.edu or +33 1 60 72 90 51.
