Monaco Media Forum 2007
The Monaco Media Forum brings together leaders of old and new media for high-level discussions about the future of print, broadcast and online communications. Hosted by HSH Prince Albert II, the invitation-only event focuses on opportunities in emerging media, as well as the implications for marketing, advertising and finance. Aggressively global in outlook, MMF provides essential perspective for strategic leadership in the digital revolution.
History of the MMF
Richard Attias and Prince Albert II got together on the margins of the World Economic Forum in January 2004 to discuss how Monaco could contribute to the growing global debate on the future of media. With technology and the digital revolution blowing away the boundaries of traditional media, along with the value-chains on which both print and broadcast are based, the issue is of immense importance to all societies around the world. Both Prince Albert and Richard Attias felt that Monaco could be an ideal platform for a high-level forum on core issues in this debate such as digitalization, the future of the press and TV, new media, and new technologies; hence the creation of the annual Monaco Media Forum, whose second edition takes place November 8-10. The principality is at the heart of Europe and the center of the Mediterranean and is thus a neutral platform for media leaders from the North and South America, Europe, The Middle East and Asia. Publicis Groupe, as the largest global communications and marketing group based in Europe, helps to organize the event and put together the program.
The launch edition in October, 2006, was a huge success. It was clear from the first afternoon that a new community was being formed from a wide range of perspectives, media sectors, and geographic regions. Common bonds were discovered, not the least of which being a passion for communication, and a belief that through communication, we increase understanding and make the world a better place.
The second edition will be held November 8-10, 2007.
