Paperworld-Highlights 2007
Paperworld 2007 dares to look into the future!
Inspiration and fair highlights across 14 hall floors
The motto of the next Paperworld, due to be held in Frankfurt from 24 to 28 January 2007, is "Think future!". The 2,500 or so exhibitors at the top international fair for paper, office and writing products are not the only ones presenting their latest new products and industry-wide trends in a future-orientated way. An innovation-packed programme of trend shows, special promotions and information events will also play their part in making the top international fair of the paper, office supplies and stationery sector the gateway to the future.
"In 2007, Paperworld will, once again, live up to its role as the industry’s premier international meeting place. In 2007, trade visitors can look forward a host of new highlights, as well as a comprehensive range of products, ranging from office products, school/writing products, personal accessories, paper products and hobby/creative supplies to printer accessories and computer supplies," said Michael Reichhold, Director. "Most importantly, Hall 3, which is amazing thanks to its modern, unconventional hall design as a city for paper, office supplies and stationery. In a framework of urban flair, the products offered by full-range suppliers and manufacturers of writing and office products open up a whole new world of product displays and create purchasing experiences."
But experience value and a wealth of ideas also await trade visitors in the remaining halls.
Paperworld Trend Show
Hall 6.1
The Paperworld trend show is a must for trend- and inspiration-hungry trade visitors. In the surroundings of the Paperworld Scriptum product segment, the trend worlds created by Dutch designer Gunnar Frank offer some welcome assistance when it comes to selecting trendy colours, design forms and materials. The Berlin and Frankfurt based bora.herke design studio company, vividly stages the trends featuring products from the Paperworld product range.
The "Creative Impulse” Prize for Innovation
Hall 4.2
The awards, established jointly by the German trade magazine HobbyArt and Messe Frankfurt, honours innovative work and commitment in the international creative sector. In addition to the award-winning categories "Creative Product of the Year", "Marketing Campaign" and "Retail Entrepreneur of the Year" at Paperworld 2006, the 2007 Prize for Innovation will, for the first time, honour the "Creative Book of the Year" and "Complete Set of the Year". The award-nominations will be on show in Hall 4.2 at Paperworld where, ultimately, the presentation ceremony will also be held.
"Creative Trends – Creativity meets Design"
Hall 4.2
For the second time, the special show "Creative Trends – Creativity meets Design" will offer the trade practical inspiration. Commissioned by Messe Frankfurt, the bora.herke stylists will be presenting the latest trend themes. Anyone interested can visit one of the exhibition desks to request an explanation of the technology and try it out for themselves. For the first time, an information brochure featuring individual trends and design options will also be available to encourage emulation.
Hobby Kreativ e.V. New Product Show
Foyer Hall 4.2
In the foyer of Hall 4.2, members of the Hobby Kreativ association will be showing off their new products, affording trade visitors a up-to-date overview of all that’s new for the forthcoming trading season.
Design Competition for Greetings and Congratulations Cards
Café Card, Foyer Hall 4.2/6.2
Once again, Paperworld will be the platform for the design competition for greetings and congratulations cards. The competition is a joint venture between the Federation of German Greeting Card Manufacturers and Printers (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der deutschen Hersteller und Verleger von Glückwunschkarten A.V.G.) and Messe Frankfurt. Students at over 200 European colleges of art and design are requested to submit their innovative designs for greetings and congratulations cards. This year, for the first time, in addition to the German-speaking nations and Benelux countries, the competition will also be advertised in England, further enhancing the internationalism of the event still further. An independent jury of experts will be selecting the most innovative designs from all the entries. These will be on show to trade visitors to Paperworld at the Café Card. Fair guests will ultimately have to choose their favourites from the host of creative submissions. Over 1,300 international fair visitors took part in the vote in 2006. Three female students shared total price money of Euro 3,000.
FILU – the graphic designers’ forum
Hall 6.2
The graphic designers’ forum "Filu" will be presenting the work of over 500 book illustrators, artists and photographers. Anyone looking for a designer for their next project will find what they’re looking for here. This makes the Filu archive a source of inspiration, as well as a contact and discussion forum.
"Centre of Excellence for Manufacturers of Original Products"
Hall 1.2
The Centre of Excellence for Manufacturers of Original Products, in the Paperworld product segment, Imaging, also constitutes an information and contact point for trade and industry. Top brand manufacturers of original printer accessories, Epson, Hewlett-Packard and Lexmark, will be flying the flag and co-exhibiting in a dedicated exhibition area.
Asian High Quality Selection
Hall 10.0
In Hall 10.0 at Paperworld 2007, the spotlight will also be on quality and brand awareness in the nations exhibition area. The Asian High Quality Selection is a grouping of mainly Asian exhibitors, whose high quality products, in-house design and generous product presentations mark them out from the rest. The hall design, with its open-design Central Boulevard and inviting catering zone, blends in perfectly with the new concept.
Workshops/Symposia
The trade symposia, held at Paperworld, represent a free opportunity to exchange industry news, trends and opinions. The 7th Creative Symposium, organized by the trade magazine HobbyArt and Messe Frankfurt, will be taking place on 26 January. Experts from retailing, manufacturing and sector-related companies will be lecturing, expressing their opinions on the latest industry themes and the potential offered by the creative market. "Brands, Markets & Opinions" is the motto of the 4th Imaging Symposium on 25 January. As well as lectures from well-known industry experts, discussions with colleagues offer ample opportunity not only to find out all there is to know about current industry themes but also to discuss issues relating to and experiences gained from everyday business activities. For the first time in 2007, Paperworld will also provide the setting for the 3rd FSC Global Paper Forum, which takes place on 23 and 24 January. FSC-certified companies, paper buyers, cellulose suppliers and representatives of environmental and social groups will attend this conference with the aim of creating a bigger market for FSC paper and to explore other marketing opportunities.
Awards Ceremony
For the first time, Paperworld will be the platform for the Anuli Awards ceremony for the ring binder of the year. The competition, which honours ultra-creative, aesthetic and functional binders is promoted by Vienna-based Ring Alliance, Europe’s biggest manufacturer of ring binder mechanisms, in a joint venture with Paperworld. The German Federation of Paper, Office Supplies and Writing Product Manufacturers (Industrieverband Papier, Bürobedarf, Schreibwaren) will also be presenting prizes, in four categories, to winners of the "Product of the Year 2007" awards. From the numerous entries, an independent jury will select the most impressive products in the categories "commercial office supplies", "small office home office"; "products for schools and private use", as well as in the category "best presentation concept". The English trade magazine OPI, Office Products International, presents the European Office Products Awards for outstanding achievements in the paper, office supplies and stationery sector. The coveted prizes are handed down every year at a festive evening event at Paperworld. The Awards honour marketing, customer orientation, innovation, environmental awareness, new product launches, young entrepreneurs and services to industry in eleven categories.
Another international award to be presented at Paperworld is the ISPA Award for the Product of the Year. ISPA, International Stationery Press Association, gives the award in the categories innovation, quality, price, presentation and environmental protection.
