Sales exhibition for young fashion design
Spring is in the air and the MuseumsQuartier Vienna hosts a "fashion convention" that brings together a variety of young international fashion designers in a colossal showroom:
From 27-30 April this event called MODEPALAST 06 (fashion palace) will present the brand new designs in fashion, jewellery and accessories. An open-air cat walk features daily unconventional fashion performances. With a pinch of salt the dogs' fashion corner showcases fashion hounds.
MODEPALAST 06 stands for condensed creativity and innovation and excites the Viennese fashion scene - now for the fourth time - with its impulses and inspiration.
60 Austrian and international fashion labels will give attractive answers to any question about young fashion design by showing their latest creations in fashion, jewellery and accessoiries at MODEPALAST 06
 MODEPALAST 06 is a four day long sales exhibition for young fashion design, where visitors have the opportunity to eye up and buy what they would normally head for across town. It presents fashion in all its varieties, from street couture and urban wear to high fashion for individualists and trendsetters. The exhibitors arrive from all directions: from the Austrian provinces, from London, Sofia, Sarajewo, Germany, Switzerland, and most of all of course from Vienna.
As every year, a gorgeous highlight is the daily open-air fashion show at the main yard of MuseumsQuartier Vienna. For starters, at the opening show on Thursday, April 27th , 6 pm., dogs will promenade down the catwalk together with their owners, all dressed in matching ensembles.
This year's special is the DOG FASHION CORNER presented by 'boutique gegenalltag' with freaky outfits and handy accessories for dogs and their owners.
In association with BLICKFANG the second 'MODEPALAST meets BLICKFANG' award, which enables the winning label free participation at BLICKFANG in fall 2006 (13 - 15 October in MAK Vienna), will be awarded.
For the first time, MODEPALAST is hosting an aftershow party on Friday, 28th of April in Ovalhalle, MuseumsQuartier Vienna. A full house is guaranteed due to the event label con:verse with its DJs Ata/Playhouse & Anja Schneider/Mobilee.
A brand new fashion catalogue is given as a souvenir to the visitors on
their MODEPALAST tour - from FREIRAUM across ARENA 21 to the fashion
shows in the main yard of MuseumsQuartier Vienna to gegenalltag's DOG
FASHION CORNER and finally to their homes -- a memorable finale to the
vibrant fashion scene.
