MIDEM 2007 : Technology and Creativity
The 41st edition of MIDEM - the world's music market - will take place in Cannes, at the Palais des Festivals, January 21-25, 2007. The Midemnet Forum's 8th edition will be held January 20-21, 2007. MIDEM's special rate has been maintained, allowing participants without a stand who register before October 31, 2006 to benefit from a 50% reduction on the full walk-in price.
 Held late January 2006, MIDEM's 40th anniversary edition was a vibrant celebration of music which successfully combined prestige and diversity. It featured tributes and awards ceremonies, an outstanding conference programme with numerous renowned keynotes and a sold-out MidemNet Forum, and over 70 concerts attracting no less than 15,000 spectators (delegates and general public alike) to enjoy an eclectic line-up, thriving with new talent. In a context of the music industry's profound transformation, MIDEM has well and truly proven to be a crucial focal point for meeting, debating and bringing together the actors who are rebuilding the sector's landscape.
MIDEM 2006 welcomed 9,798 participants (+5% on 2005) and 4,634 companies (+6% on 2005) from 93 countries, thereby confirming the event's international status and health: this was the third consecutive year of growth in MIDEM participation. In short, the 40th anniversary edition has set a pace that the 41st edition is firmly expected to follow.
