interzum 2007 to have new dates and different days of the week
The forthcoming interzum will be one day shorter than previous events and its new sequence of days will be from Wednesday to Saturday (new dates: 9th to 12th May 2007). As the world's leading trade fair for furniture production and interiors, interzum is undergoing this change in response to the exhibitors' wishes. "By bringing interzum forward, we are expressly responding to the wishes of our exhibitors, who would like the trade fair to be one day shorter and to end on a Saturday," says Wolfgang Kranz, Executive Vice President of Koelnmesse GmbH. "We believe that this will result in a modern and timely trade fair schedule that will make a visit to the fair even more efficient."
The constantly increasing proportion of visitors from abroad, which reached 70 per cent at this year's interzum, is one of the factors that makes a flexible schedule necessary. Visitors from abroad would understandably like to combine a visit to interzum with a detour to Ligna+. They can now use the Sunday after interzum is concluded as a travel day.
A new setting for the future
interzum is the inspiration behind our living spaces of the future. It presents the entire value chain with a variety and scope that is unique worldwide. The trade fair is a showcase for the latest products, technologies, developments and design trends in the supplier sector. At interzum, visions for the sector's continued, sustainable development are once again being developed across a very broad range of segments. And from 2007, all this will be taking place in the attractive atmosphere of the new Northern Halls at Koelnmesse. The four new trade fair halls, new conference centre and the new Entrance North set standards in regard to structure, location, accessibility and service. Overall, they make interzum more compact and allow visitors to orient themselves quickly. And the light-flooded Trade Fair Boulevard that runs through the entire site from north to south greatly contributes to this effect. With the ICE railway station "Köln Messe/Deutz," visitors also have a direct connection to this high-speed railway network and thus very good links to four international airports, among other destinations.
In May 2007, interzum will once again present its range of products in the usual breadth and depth. What is new, however, is that there will be an even clearer focus on the needs of exhibitors and visitors. The short distances, excellent overview, top-quality service, infrastructure of a modern trade fair city, close proximity to the city centre, excellent transport connections and an unsurpassed variety of products - all are factors that ensure interzum will once again live up to its reputation as the world's leading business and communications forum for the sector.
