EU and US discuss bilateral trade,
Doha trade talks
Brussels, 21 Jan 2008 - EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson and US Trade Representative Susan Schwab have met in Brussels to discuss a wide range of bilateral trade issues as well as progress in the WTO Doha trade talks. The two sides also discussed relations with major emerging economies, as well as the contribution of trade policy to mitigation of climate change.

United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
During four decades, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has been the focal point within the United Nations for the integrated treatment of trade and development and related issues in the areas of investment, finance, technology, enterprise development and sustainable development.
Established in 1964, UNCTAD promotes the development-friendly integration of developing countries into the world economy. UNCTAD has progressively evolved into an authoritative knowledge-based institution whose work aims to help shape current policy debates and thinking on development, with a particular focus on ensuring that domestic policies and international action are mutually supportive in bringing about sustainable development.
United Nations Global Compact
The Global Compact is a framework for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption . As the world's largest, global corporate citizenship initiative, the Global Compact is first and foremost concerned with exhibiting and building the social legitimacy of business and markets.
World Economic Forum
The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
Incorporated as a foundation in 1971, and based in Geneva, Switzerland, the World Economic Forum is impartial and not-for-profit; it is tied to no political, partisan or national interests. The World Economic Forum is under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Government.

Asian Trade Promotion Forum (ATPF)
Asian Trade Promotion Forum is a gathering of Trade Promotion Organizations (TPOs) in the Asian Region. It was established in 1987, and currently has 21 members.
The objective of ATPF is to enhance trade in the region through information exchange, implementation of cooperative projects and strengthening networks among ATPF members. CEOs meetings and working level meetings are held once a year, and various cooperative projects are actively carried out by members.
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, or APEC, is the premier forum for facilitating economic growth, cooperation, trade and investment in the Asia-Pacific region.
APEC is the only inter governmental grouping in the world operating on the basis of non-binding commitments, open dialogue and equal respect for the views of all participants. Unlike the WTO or other multilateral trade bodies, APEC has no treaty obligations required of its participants. Decisions made within APEC are reached by consensus and commitments are undertaken on a voluntary basis.
APEC has 21 members - referred to as "Member Economies" - which account for more than a third of the world's population (2.6 billion people), approximately 60% of world GDP (US$19, 254 billion) and about 47% of world trade. It also proudly represents the most economically dynamic region in the world having generated nearly 70% of global economic growth in its first 10 years.

Association of Event Organisers (AEO)
The Association of Event Organisers Ltd (AEO) is the trade body representing companies that conceive, create, develop, manage, market, sponsor, supply or service trade exhibitions and consumer events. It is run by its members for the benefit of its members through an elected council of representatives, specialist working groups and a fulltime secretariat.
Association of Event Venues (AEV)
The AEV exists to represent the interests of venues within the wider events industry and works closely with the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) and the Association of Exhibition Contractors (AEC) to increase the profile and significance of events within the marketing mix.
Association of Exhibition Contractors (AEC)
The Association of Exhibition Contractors is a trade association representing contractors and suppliers of goods and services to the exhibition industry . It shares a secretariat with its sister organisations, the Association of Event Organisers (AEO) and the Association of Event Venues (AEV) and thus benefits from the central information source. The development of a closer relationship and understanding between organisers their suppliers and venues can only benefit the industry as a whole.
Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries (CBI)
CBI is an Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and part of the development cooperation effort of The Netherlands. The CBI's mission is to contribute to the economic development of developing countries by strengthening the competitiveness of companies from those countries on the EU market. European Free Trade Association (EFTA)
Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland are members of EFTA. The EFTA Convention established a free trade area among its Member States in 1960. In addition, the EFTA States have jointly concluded free trade agreements with a number of countries worldwide. Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway entered into the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) in 1992, which entered into force in 1994. The current contracting parties are, in addition to the three EFTA states, the European Community and the 25 EC Member States.
EURATEX - The European Apparel and Textile Organisation
With an apparent consumption of at least 387,5 Billion Euro, the EU 25 is the largest world market for textile and clothing products. The European industry is the world's leading exporter of textiles and the third for clothing. Global Managment Consortium-Trade and Information Network (GMC-TIN)

ICCA was founded in 1963 by a group of travel agents. Union of International Associations (UIA)
