Première Vision Preview New York started the calendar year in its customary fashion, between the finish of the season culminating in the runways and the beginning of a new season.
Première Vision Preview gives designers and merchandisers the impetus to create their Spring Summer 09 Collections when they most need it.
The 112 Fabrics and Trimmings manufacturers present count among the best in the world with unsurpassed technical know how and unfettered creativity. They come to New York as partners thanks to the strong connections they have established over the years with all major North American fashion professionals. Times are difficult because of exacerbated competition, a strong euro and a climate of economic uncertainty but Première Vision Preview New York offers the practical and creative tools to keep ahead of the curve.
3,212 designers, merchandisers, fabric buyers visited the show to get the first viewing of the Spring Summer 09 pre-collections, less than a month before the Paris show where the fully developed lines will be displayed. Turnout shows is inline with last year’s session. The who’s who of couture, ready to wear, store chains and accessories had sent their technical and creative teams. To name a few: Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Liz Claiborne, Tse and Coach, the handbag and fashion accessories brand were present among many others.
The 5 Trend Tastings lead by Sabine Le Chatelier, Associate Fashion director for Première Vision Paris were sold out before the show’s opening. These informative seminars together with the color book constitute the stepping stones leading professionals to the articulation of their own color and story boards.
Première Vision range of colors is a wonderful synthesis of contradictory currents in which every designer finds the inspiration that characterizes his own brand.
The next season’s fashion trends bespeak a return to human values. The tonic colors of Spring Summer 09 infuse the healthy doses of optimism to counterbalance the grim outlook of the moment.
The fashion story is to be continued in Paris at Première Vision on February 19 thru February 22.
