Hair and Beauty 2008 postponed
* Messe Frankfurt forced to take action by half-hearted support from the brand-name industry
 The Hair and Beauty fair planned for 27 and 28 April 2008 has been postponed. This decision was taken by the Board of Management of Germany's biggest fair and exhibition company after the leading companies of the hair-cosmetic industry had failed to register for this year's Hair and Beauty. "We very much regret having to take this decision but we want to offer planning certainty to those companies that did support the fair and register at an early stage", said Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. Additionally, it is still possible at this stage to ensure that all visitors are made aware of the new situation.
Messe Frankfurt will decide on the future of Hair and Beauty after holding consultations with the Federation of the German Hairdressing Trade (Zentralverband des Deutschen Friseurhandwerks) – the notional sponsor of the event – the Advisory Council and leading representatives of the exhibitor and visitor sides. This decision will be announced in due course.
Messe Frankfurt took over Hair and Beauty from the previous organisers, Dr. Kater Marketing, in April 2006. The first Hair and Beauty held by Messe Frankfurt attracted a good 37,000 visitors to Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. Thus, Hair and Beauty was Germany's biggest hair-dressing show in 2007.

The 2nd Hair & Beauty of Messe Frankfurt to be held on 27 and 28 April 2008
Attractive visitor programme with shows, workshops, lectures, championships
The 2nd Hair and Beauty to be organised by Messe Frankfurt will bring together exhibitors and visitors from the hairdressing sector at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre on Sunday, 27 April, and Monday, 28 April 2008. Representatives of Messe Frankfurt and the members of the Hair and Beauty Strategy Commission decided on these dates at a meeting in July. On both levels of Hall 3, around 350 international exhibitors and brands, plus shows on the two workshop stages and expert lectures at the Competence Centre, will inform and entertain trade visitors at the end of next April next year.
Additionally, the German Hairdressing Championships organised by the German Hairdressing Federation (Zentralverband des Deutschen Friseurhandwerks) and the national and international Nail Championships of the German Nail Designer Association (Bundesverband Deutscher Nail Designer (BDND) will take place parallel to the fair. As at this year's Hair & Beauty, top international hairdressing teams will make their presentations on the ShowStage in the Festhalle.
