Dubai International Fashion Week Teaming-up with PRESTIGE

 For the first time, the dates of the fifth edition of the international trade fair for fashion, footwear and accessories, PRESTIGE, [October 23-25, 2007] coincide with Dubai International Fashion Week [October 22 -25, 2007]. According to an announcement of the organisers of PRESTIGE, planetfair GmbH Hamburg, Germany, and planetfair llc, Dubai, a co-operation agreement was concluded with the Concept Events fz llc, producers of Dubai International Fashion Week. As stated by Michael Mueller, Managing Director of planetfair llc, and Aldrin Fernandes, CEO of Concept Group, the partnership will focus on a joint visitor marketing campaign spread all across the Middle East as well as on the possibility for selected exhibitors of PRESTIGE to participate in Dubai International Fashion Week and, vice versa, for participants of Dubai International Fashion Week to exhibit in PRESTIGE.
Dubai International Fashion Week is a high-ranking prestigious event that successfully concluded its first edition in April 2007, where twenty six established and emerging designers from the region and beyond effectively showcased their best collections for Autumn/Winter 2007. Dubai International Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2008 will be held in October at the One&Only Royal Mirage, located at the famous Jumeirah beach district of Dubai. Building on the tremendous goodwill generated after the first event, the October edition will continue to focus on designers from the Middle East while simultaneously reaching out to more regional and international buyers.
Dubai International Fashion Week likewise PRESTIGE are organised under the auspices of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). The first edition was sponsored by world known beauty and cosmetics brands, Lancôme among others, as well as by professional organisations like “fashionexecutives”, a group of leading fashion buyers, industry and trade experts.
As the organisers further announced, the co-operation agreement between Dubai International Fashion Week and PRESTIGE provides opportunities for the organisation of seminars and workshops dedicated to key fashion and lifestyle issues.
“We are confident that the co-operation concluded between Dubai International Fashion Week and PRESTIGE will immediately lead to important synergies, from which our exhibitors and trade visitors form the Gulf will benefit tremendously”, said Ingo Kloever, Managing Director of planetfair, Hamburg.
