A FAIR/BFF becomes largest high fashion fair

Antwerp, 3 december 2007 – “Fashion overcomes all!
Where the government has so far failed to bring Wallonia and Flanders together, the fashion world has succeeded with flying colours in uniting both parts of the country. A FAIR and BFF are joining forces to create an international top-level fashion fair”, explain Roger Elsten, Muriel Van Nieuwenhove and Dominique Jacques, organisers of the new fair. The new organisation also includes Kid´s Fashion, under the direction of Sophie Bastin.

A new milestone in the history of the Belgian fashion business: A FAIR and BFF are becoming a single large fashion fair. On Sunday 3 and Monday 4 February 2008, Antwerp Expo will serve as the setting for this new, exciting two-day fashion event which is specially tailored for demanding fashion professionals. The theme of the fair is ”Hooray for Hollywood”.

Together, A FAIR and BFF (Brussels Fashion Fairs) guarantee a successful fashion fair with a sophisticated and varied offer. The fair brings together an exquisite selection of top brands from three different segments (New Luxury Brands, the middle segment and denim and sportswear).

With an offer of 350 exhibitors who are presenting 400 women´s, men´s and accessory collections in the middle and high segment for autumn/winter 2008/09, A FAIR/BFF is the most important fashion fair in the top segment. As a location the organisers opted for Antwerp Expo which, with its 16,000 m2 of surface area, offers enough space to perfectly highlight these brands.

A FAIR/BFF is being held during A FASHION WEEK, the Antwerp fashion week which takes place between 27 January and 4 February 2008. Headed by director Philippe Verschueren, a dazzling programme is being composed on an international level. Although the largest part is intended for fashion professionals, the public can also participate during the Five-day A Fashion Tour, an initiative of the cocktail club The Black Pearl.

The Fashion Week starts with Kid’s Fashion Antwerp. Fashion professionals will discover leading ready to wear an accessories labels for children at The Waagnatie in Antwerp on januari 27 th and 28 th 2008.
