New in 2008: Tendence and Collectione together at the beginning of July
'Frankfurt 4 all seasons' presents products for the whole year round
The two Messe Frankfurt consumer-goods fairs, Tendence Lifestyle and Collectione Preview Spring + Summer, will be held in parallel from 2008. The first joint event will take place in Frankfurt am Main from 4 to 8 July 2008. While Collectione Preview Spring + Summer retains its name with no change, Tendence Lifestyle will be known as Tendence Autumn + Winter from 2008. Rounding off the two inter¬national trade-fair highlights in the summer will be Taste it!, the experiential gourmet event that, with a variety of activities and demonstrations, is aimed at the specialist trade and consumers with an interest in cooking.
Under the umbrella slogan, 'Frankfurt 4 all seasons', the rescheduled events will constitute a worldwide communication, presentation and order platform for all parts of the trade and offer a product portfolio covering all four seasons: at Tendence, visitors from the specialist retail and wholesale trades will find articles for the forthcoming autumn, winter and Christmas business. Parallel to this, Collectione will show products for the spring and summer of the subsequent year especially for buyers from large-scale forms of the trade. Collectione 2008 will be held in the western section of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, in Halls 8, 9 and 10 while Tendence Autumn + Winter will occupy Hall 3, 4, 5 and 6. Taste it! will take place in Hall 1.
The reasons for the changes in the timing of Collectione and Tendence is the fact that, "the ordering cycles of the trade have shifted from the autumn to the summer over recent years, which means that exhibitors need to present their latest products at an earlier stage", explains Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. "Accordingly, we firmly believe that our future-oriented decision to bring forward Tendence by six weeks and hold it parallel to Collectione is the correct, market-oriented step to take".
After Tendence Lifestyle 2006, Messe Frankfurt was asked by a clear majority of the Exhibitor Advisory Council to examine the question of holding Tendence Lifestyle at an earlier time. Extensive, representative polls of national and international visitors and non-visitors of Tendence Lifestyle between September 2006 and January 2007 con¬firmed the shift in the ordering cycles and, therefore, that it would be right to bring forward the fair to the first weekend of July. The results of the subsequent poll of Tendence Lifestyle exhibitors confirmed that it should be held in July. Following long and intensive discussions with exhibitors, representatives of the visitors and the International Strategy Commission of Tendence Lifestyle and Collectione, Messe Frankfurt took the decision after the Collectione exhibitors and visitors had also voted for the two events to be held in parallel.
