New IAA poster underscores key theme of sustainable mobility
Frankfurt am Main, August, 2007 - “See what’s driving the future” is the slogan of this year’s International Motor Show (IAA). With this and a new poster underscoring the key theme of “sustainable mobility” the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA, the organizer of the IAA) is bringing in new emphases at the world’s largest motor show, which opens in Frankfurt am Main on 13 September 2007.
“With the key theme of ‘sustainable mobility’ we have set ourselves the ambitious task of making a fresh visual interpretation of the central terms ‘Innovation – Emotion – Environment’. The resulting new poster does this very well,” emphasized Matthias Wissmann, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). The outline shape of a car and the high-tech symbols stand for innovation, and a range of glowing colors fills them with emotion. Natural details in the vehicle outline underline the environmental aspect. “We have not set ourselves an easy task. The IAA is not only about environmental protection, but also at least as much about fascinating vehicle premieres and enjoying vehicles,” Wissmann said.
The slogan “See what’s driving the future” stands firstly for the numerous world premieres at the IAA. At the same time it emphasizes the driving force for innovation and the future viability of the automotive industry, and arouses curiosity about visiting the IAA. “The IAA will show everyone the progress made by the German automotive industry in fuel-efficient vehicles,” said Wissmann.
The IAA will be offering “Eco-training” during which trainers will be available to teach visitors how to drive in the most economical way. The go-kart track will also have a new orientation: the aim will not be to be the fastest driver, but to be the most economical. There will also be an “Eco-path” giving classes of schoolchildren and other interested visitors an opportunity to take a close look at the IAA’s major ecological themes. The new “Bio Fuel Bar” will provide not only “eco-drinks”, but also further information on the subject of reducing CO2. For the first time the VDA will set up an event platform at the IAA offering a forum for discussion on climate change and energy efficiency at different stands on a number of days.
For the run-up to the IAA the VDA has drawn up a comprehensive “Communication Roadmap” containing not only the classic forms of advertising (press, banner advertising, TV and radio), but in addition various aspects of the key theme of “sustainable mobility” will be illuminated in publicity work, supported by similar activities on the part of the manufacturers and suppliers.
So far around 1,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries have registered for the IAA, which will take place from 13 to 23 September 2007.
