To be held from 23 to 27 January 2008, Christmasworld – The World of Event Decoration – is the foremost order platform for the international festive-decorations sector where over 1,000 exhibitors present their top new products for the next festive season – from Easter and garden parties to Halloween and the most important season of the year, Christmas. "The range of products at Christmasworld covers all festive occasions of the year", says Jutta Baumann, Christmasworld Director of Messe Frankfurt. "This variety makes the event extremely attractive for representatives of the worldwide trade. Frankfurt is where they place their orders for the entire year."The focus of Hall 8.0 is on decorations for all times of the year and everything revolves around floristic accessories. This includes not only silk flowers, ribbons and flowerpots but also pottery and decorations for indoors and outdoors. Additionally, the Shop & Display exhibitors in Hall 8.0 present decorative eye catchers for shop windows and in-shop displays.
Next door, exhibitors of festive lighting will turn Hall 9.0 into a sea of light while the latest pyrotechnical innovations can be seen in the fireworks section. Candle makers will leave no doubt that light creates a particularly festive atmosphere – from hand-made to fragrant, not to mention unique examples, visitors will find candles of every conceivable shape and size here. In the party and festive decorations section, which is also in Hall 9.0, buyers can discover all the accessories needed to make any party go with a bang – from confetti and party dishes to garlands and balloons.
In Halls 9.1 and 9.2, the spotlight is on festive and seasonal decorations, decorative accessories of all kinds and manufactory products whereby particular emphasis is given to Christmas decorations of every kind from wonderful collectors' baubles to flashy trend objects. Moreover, the spectrum of Christmas decorations ranges from hand-made Italian cribs and 'smokers' from the Ore Mountains ('Erzgebirge') to beautiful porcelain for the festively decorated dining table. Besides Christmas articles, however, visitors will also find a host of seasonal decorations such as Easter accessories or gift and decoration ideas for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day. The national participations with overseas products are located in Hall 9.3.
Trend Show in Hall 9.2
As in the past, one of the highlights of Christmasworld 2008 will be the Trend Show. In Hall 9.2, the Creative Team of Cem Bora and Claudia Herke of 'Stilbüro bora.herke' will stage an elaborate trend presentation designed to give trade visitors inspiration for compiling their assortments and numerous ideas for specific product displays in their shops. Stylistic elements from different cultures, which will play an important role in the 2008 festive season, are skilfully arranged by Bora und Herke. For visitors who want not only to gain an impression of the latest trends but also to obtain a deeper insight, Messe Frankfurt will offer professional guided tours of the Trend Show daily at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (meet at the Trend Show).
'Erzgebirgische Volkskunst' presents colourful circus worlds
Also in Hall 9.2, the 'Enchantment in Wood' special show of the 'Erzgebirgischen Volkskunst®' is sure to attract considerable attention. Under the title 'Welcome', everything revolves around the subject of circuses with amusing clowns, courageous lion tamers and graceful tight-rope walkers. Here, craftspeople from the Ore Mountains will yet again demonstrate the creative variety of this traditional art.
Sweden, Guest County at Christmasworld with 'Sankta Lucia' and 'Midsommar'
Festivals and celebrations play a major role in all countries and cultures of the world. Christmasworld pays tribute to this variety with a series of 'Guest Country' presentations. Launched in 2007, the idea is for a different region or nation to make a guest appearance in Frankfurt with a typical festival every year. In this way, Christmasworld underscores not only its significance as the leading platform for important festivals but also makes the fair even more attractive for the worldwide trade. In 2008, Christmasworld welcomes Sweden as the Guest Country with its traditional festivals, 'Midsommar' and 'Sankta Lucia'. In this connection, the Galleria between Halls 8 and 9 will be transformed into a typical Swedish setting showing scenes from these festivals. Additionally, visitors will be able to enjoy culinary specialities from Sweden at the 'Minipic' in the Galleria and listen to Swedish folk tunes from the loudspeakers. Additionally, on the first day of the fair, a Swedish girls' choir will contribute to the festive atmosphere in the Galleria.
