Ambiente will have a new look from 2010. The world’s biggest consumer goods fair, which will be held in Frankfurt am Main from 12 to 16 February 2010, is to be restructured and turned through 180 degrees. An extensive set of changes will make visiting the fair even more efficient and target-group oriented. Additionally, the new Hall 11 will be integrated into the fair for the first time. In close cooperation with national and international exhibitors, the strategy commission and representatives of the industry and trade associations, Messe Frankfurt has prepared a concept, the initial results of which were presented during Ambiente 2009.
Thus, the three leading trade fairs held under the umbrella of Ambiente will change sides. From 2010, Dining, the highlight of the table, kitchen and housewares sector, will occupy Halls 1 to 6 and, there-fore, be located for the first time on the eastern, downtown side of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre. Thus, Giving, the colourful world of presents and decorations, as well as Living, the world’s leading trade fair for the home and furnishing and the Passage section, will move to the western section of the Exhibition Centre.
This restructuring will enable Messe Frankfurt to give the individual trade fairs an even sharper image. “With the new concept, we can adapt the space required for the individual product groups, to meet changes in the assortments and channels of distribution of the exhibi-tors. Parallel to this, we can also optimise the stream of visitors. Thus, in the future, Ambiente will not only be arranged by sectors and product groups but also by other aspects including assortment compilation and ways of attracting customers”, explained Dr. Michael Peters, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. From 2010, there will be special design halls and halls with brandname manufacturers who are particularly well known among consumers. Naturally, the fair will continue to include exhibitors interested primarily in buyers wanting to place large-scale orders.
Dining – cooking, dining and luxury
From next year, the world’s leading trade fair for tableware, the kitchen and housewares will occupy Halls 1 to 6.
Hall 1:
Covering both floors of Hall 1, the ‘Kitchen Trends’ product segment will present new products for the modern kitchen, e.g., kitchen accessories, table and kitchen linen, paper serviettes, bar and drinking utensils and gourmet gifts.
Hall 3:
The ‘Kitchen’ section on both floors of Hall 3 is where visitors will find everything professional cooks need, e.g., cooking, frying, baking and roasting dishes, cutlery and knives, kitchen appliances and machines. In this connection, trade-specific consumer brands will be concen-trated in Hall 3.1 while manufacturers of other brands, no-name prod-ucts, OEMs and the supplier industry will be grouped together in Hall 3.0.
Hall 4 and Halls 6.2, 6.3:
From 2010, the ‘Table’ product section will be located in the whole of Hall 4 and Halls 6.2 and 6.3. Here, the spotlight will be on tableware with product ranges made of glass, porcelain and ceramic. Also to be seen: fine crystal, as well as silver, metalware and modern plastic products.
In Hall 4, the product spectrum will be grouped by main themes, as follows: Contemporary Design (4.0), Prestige (4.1) and Daily Life (4.2).
Halls 6.2 and 6.3 will house ‘Top Trade’ exhibitors for buyers wanting to have products made to their individual specification or place bulk orders.
Hall 5 and Halls 6.0, 6.1:
Trade visitors will find the ‘Housewares and Storage’ section with, for example, household aids, appliances and containers, measuring and testing equipment, cleaning machines and utensils, in Halls 5.0, 5.1, 6.0 and 6.1.
The focus of Hall 5 is on the ironing, drying and tidying segments whereby suppliers with well-known consumer brands for the specialist trade will be grouped together in Hall 5.1.
Hall 6.1 will accommodate household aids and melamine tableware and thus generate ideal synergetic effects with Halls 6.2 and 6.3. In future, suppliers of mixed assortments and promotional articles will be located in Hall 6.0.
Giving – giving and decorating
From Ambiente 2010, greater emphasis will be given to the modern and aesthetic character of Giving, the leading trade fair for the sector. In the future, Giving will share the western section of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre with Living and thus reinforce the synergies be-tween design and lifestyle themes. At the same time, they will enjoy a particularly design-oriented and emotional setting in the vicinity of the new and modern Hall 11.
Halls 9.1 and 9.2:
From next year, ‘Gifts Unlimited’, ‘Manufakturen & Collectables’ and ‘Kids World’ will be located in Halls 9.1 and 9.2. In Hall 9.1, visitors will find an emotional spectrum of gift articles and decoration accessories. With ‘Kids World’, young and fashionable gift articles, stationery and smokers’ accessories, Hall 9.2 will have a fresh and trendy air. And it will be supplemented by the high-grade segment of craft-manufactured individual pieces, souvenirs, games, figures and limited editions.
Hall 9.3:
The ‘Carat’’ product section will be supplemented by the ‘Personal Accessories’ segment and be located in Hall 9.3, i.e., in the immediate vicinity of gift articles. The atmosphere of the hall will be domi-nated by genuine jewellery, costume jewellery, clocks, watches and accessories rounded off by personal accessories such as small bags and scarves, as well as arts & crafts with unique, high grade, design oriented articles.
Hall 11.1:
Youthful, cheeky, bright and hallmarked by extraordinary design – these are the distinguishing features of gift ideas and accessories in ‘Young & Trendy’. From 2010, this design oriented and fashionable product segment will be located in the new Hall 11.1.
Living – the home, furnishing, life
Living, the world’s leading trade fair for the sector, is the meeting place for specialists for the home and furnishing. Living at Ambiente is the meeting place for interior design, furniture, home accessories, home textiles and avantgarde design. Here, buyers searching for individual home concepts and products for their customers can be sure of finding what they need.
The already wide range of modern design products distinguished by clear lines will have even more space and room to expand from next year. Then, ‘Loft’ will be held in the modern and exclusive setting of the new Hall 11, which provides the perfect setting for the design oriented, lifestyle character of this section of the fair.
Hall 11.0:
Visitors will find designer and avantgarde home accessories, furniture, luminaries and textiles in Hall 11.0. At the same time, this exhibition hall will also provide the setting for the ‘Talents’ – young designers with their designs – and ‘Next’ with new avantgarde design studios.
Hall 9.0:
Hall 9.0 will also belong to the Living trade fair in the future. Here, trade visitors will find a high grade selection of international furnishing ideas with furniture, textiles, luminaires and indispensible home accessories of all styles.
Hall 8.0:
In future, emotional products for indoors and outdoors – from home concepts with matching home accessories and decorations to garden furniture, plant pots and everything that makes time spent outside more pleasant – will be located in Hall 8.0.
Passage Dining, Giving and Living
From Ambiente 2010, suppliers from Asia, Latin America and Africa specialising in bulk sales will be making their presentations all together for the first time on four floors of Hall 10. For the ‘Table & Kitchen’ segment, Passage brings together national participations focusing on tableware, the kitchen and housewares. The product groups covered range from glass, porcelain, ceramics and metalware to table decorations, cooking, roasting, baking, frying and kitchen dishes and household and cleaning appliances and utensils. At Passage Gifts, visitors will find suppliers of games, toys, dolls, bags and leather goods, as well as ethnic art, arts & crafts, stationery, basketry and wickerwork, candles, accessories, festive and seasonal decorations, art, silk and dried flowers, etc.
The Passage Home & Garden area shows home accessories, small pieces of furniture, textiles, decoration ideas for indoors and outdoors and garden accessories.
