Contemporary Art Fair Returns to Palm Beach for 11th Season, Adds Dynamic New Programming and Special Exhibitions
West Palm Beach, Fla. (November 15, 2007) – palmbeach3 | contemporary art fair is anticipated to attract great deal of attention from all over the world when it returns to Palm Beach for its 11th season on January 11-14, 2008 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Riding high on unprecedented levels of interest in contemporary art, the Fair will offer a compelling, innovative, multi-disciplined exhibition of modern and contemporary art designed to appeal to both new and seasoned art enthusiasts. |
The four-day event will feature a stellar line-up of prestigious national and international galleries. Nearly 40 percent of this year’s exhibitors will be international – a reflection of the global perspective prevalent in today’s art market. Galleries representing 14 countries will be participating, including exhibitors from Germany, Great Britain, Spain, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Columbia, Israel and Cuba. The galleries will present a range of contemporary art, from museum quality works by art stars like Richter and Rauschenberg to top works by established mid-career artists as well as the latest from emerging artists -- all in a variety of styles and media.
“What’s great about palmbeach3 is the incredible mix – collectors of craft are exposed to contemporary art and photography, and vice versa,” said Beth Rudin DeWoody, a renowned New York-based collector and enthusiastic supporter of the Fair.
Under the direction of Fran Kaufman, palmbeach3 broke records in both sales and
attendance last year. Kaufman is already building on the momentum with several special exhibitions, a high-profile lecture series, panel discussions, installations, off-site collector events and a Private Preview evening on Thursday, January 10. Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida is the charity partner for the invitation-only opening night event.
“We are especially excited about presenting an exclusive preview of the Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art’s upcoming show, Unbroken Ties: Dialogues in Cuban Art.” adds Kaufman. “As the title suggests, the exhibition focuses on the survival and continuity of Cuban values and the Cuban character beyond the island, and includes work by Abelardo Morrell, Carlos Luna and Arturo Cuenca, among others.”
