Separate fashion fairs for the general public and professionals
Fashion+Beauty, a new event for the public, to start in November 2006
The Helsinki International Fashion Fair will from now on be open only to industry professionals. In 2006, the exhibition will be arranged on 29-30 January and 20-21 August. Fashion+Beauty, a new event aimed at the general public, will be arranged for the first time on 10-12 November 2006. It will occur simultaneously with the Health fair, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and the Fair for You 45+ event. The exhibitions will be arranged by the Finnish Fair Corporation at the Helsinki Fair Centre.

"The majority of exhibitors at the Fashion Fair have been interested in either the part open to the general public or the professionals segment; therefore they have considered it too challenging to arrange something for both," exhibition manager Nina Närhinen says. "In future the Helsinki International Fashion Fair will act specifically as a forum for clothing manufacturers and fashion industry professionals. It will be a place for them to check out the trends and clothing collections of the coming season, meet with colleagues and cooperation partners and discuss topical issues for the industry."
Närhinen emphasises the fact that the Fashion Fair has always been a venue for larger transaction volumes than trade fairs on average. "The aim is to further increase the significance of the fair as a market place. Even though the turnover of collections has become more rapid, changing the way in which business is done, participation at our fair is still an unrivalled way of introducing new collections to existing and potential customers from all over the country in just a couple of days."
Retailers interested mainly consumers of fashion can reach just the right target group by participating in the new Fashion+Beauty event.
"This is an excellent addition to an already popular exhibition totality," says exhibition manager Reija Könönen with a smile. "Last year's Health & Beauty and Fair for You events attracted over 33,000 consumers who take an active interest in their appearance and well-being. The exhibitors have included some clothing providers, but visitors have expressed an interest in a broader range. The new Fashion+Beauty event answers the needs of both visitors and clothing companies in search of new consumer contacts."
