21 000 Hair Stylists at Hair Style 2007 in Kortrijk XPO!
 The 7th edition of HAIR STYLE, the trade show for hair stylists in the Benelux, was held in Kortrijk on 11 & 12 February, 2007. No less than 20 884 hair stylists visited the event: 11 867 on Sunday and 9 017 on the Monday. This is up 1.7% - a slight increase in comparison with the comparable edition in 2005.
This year, Hair Style occupied the entire Kortrijk Xpo complex and presented an exciting, comprehensive programme for all hair stylists. No less than 165 exhibitors, 43% of whom came from outside Belgium, presented 352 brands at magnificently decorated stands. Visitors could discover the new hair fashion trends and many new products ranging from colouring and natural hair care products and innovative wash units to the perfect hair clipper and other small supplies for hairdressing salons. A huge number of visitors also voted at the Innovation Award stand for the most innovative product at the show. The Vero K-Pak Color System by Joico, a new type of hair colouring that reconstructs the hair as it colours, was voted the winner. This successful product combines Joico’s world-famous K-Pak technology based on their patented Quadramine complex, with VeroColor’s superior quality colourings.
There was a lot to see at the show, both on the stands and at the very popular fringe activities. The Total Look TrendForum was a mine of inspiration, with clear illustrations of two total look trends: “Ba’Rock & Love” and “Future Now”. The 300 seats in the new theatre in Hall 4 were always full during the Look & Learn sessions, where the Toni&Guy presentations were the top attraction. Hair stylists could watch step-by-step demonstrations in close-up showing the latest cutting and styling techniques, with a commentary giving all the technical details. Once again, the artistic presentations were held in the spectacular show theatre in Hall 5. A succession of top international stylists alternated with Belgium’s best. The Llongueras International team launched daring and imaginative hair creations, while contrasting colours and structures were the theme of the Trevor Sorbie Art team’s presentation and the Gandini team displayed voluminous styles inspired by the `70s and `80s. Our own Belgian stylists put together an exclusive, spectacular show presenting the collections of no less than 9 Belgian academies
with great showmanship, in which a wealth of hair styles and countless different models were a rich source of inspiration! The Belgian Hair Stylists’ Union also used our event to stage the very successful première of their “Impact” spring and summer collection in a 100% Belgian show.
The Hair Style 07 team can look back on a highly successful and enjoyable edition of the event in Kortrijk. The more spacious layout and stylish decor were the cherry on the cake! Both exhibitors and visitors gave it a rave review and described the 07 event as one of the best and most attractive editions ever! They – and we – are already looking forward to the next Hair Style, which will be held on 20 & 21 April 2008 in Ahoy’ Rotterdam.
