The Search for ‘10’ - New Faces Going Places
begins at the All-India Model Auditions for
Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week S/S 2008
New Delhi, July 2, 2007: WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK today announced the search for 10 ‘New Faces Going Places’ – the All-India model auditions for fresh talent on the ramp. The selected models will participate in the upcoming WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK Spring Summer 2008 which is being held in New Delhi from September 5 – 9, 2007. Celebrating the ‘10th Edition’ our emminent jury will be looking for 10 fresh faces to launch on the ramps of WIFW as part of their commitment to always provide a platform for new talent.
Over the years, and over the editions, the WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK has launched several faces, showcasing the best Indian talent on its runways. Models such as Neha Kapur, Deepika Padukone, Pia Trivedi, Mridula Chandrashekhar, Sonalika Sahay to name a few, have been launched at this platform.
Over the years the entries received by aspiring models at WIFW have steadily increased. The last edition had an over-whelming response of over 240 aspiring models – and the forthcoming Spring Summer edition of WIFW once again promises to showcase the crème-de-le crème of the Indian modeling industry.
Models that have previous experience on the catwalk, will also audition for the WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK, on the recommendation by some of India’s leading model coordinators and modeling agencies.
Announcing the WIFW S/S 2008 Model Auditions, Rathi Vinay Jha, Director General, FDCI, said, “The model auditions are not just a preliminary part, but a strong driving force for WIFW in establishing tomorrow’s faces and promoting new talent and preparing them to cope with the various roles and pressures of this exciting yet competitive business. I wish all the participants the very best of luck.”
