Going to the folk roots and garments has always been inherent to Ukrainian fashion. Designers interpret this theme in manyfold ways: some quote literally the characteristic decor, some borrow only structural decisions, others work with colors. A distinguishing feature of Ukrainian fashion, its business card, is the creative adaptation of folklore ideas based on the contemporary global trends.

Seasons of Fashion has been extensively covered by Ukrainian periodicals (from daily newspapers to glamour magazines) and specialized periodicals of ex-USSR and other foreign countries (Collezioni (Italy), Modnyj magazine (Russia)). TV coverage includes news and specialized programs broadcast on the major Ukrainian channels and Fashion TV Ukraine. A partnership developed with Ukraine-wide music channel M1 which broadcast all of Seasons of Fashion online has been unprecedented in the history of fashion industry in Ukraine. The daily 6 hours report included visitors' interviews before the show, broadcasting of collections with background comments, backstage and complemented by designers' interviews. A total of over 80 mass media have accredited for Ukrainian Prêt-a-Porter Week.

The venue for the next Ukrainian Fashion Week to be held on March, 15-19, 2006, will be the exhibition centre located in a picturesque park of the downtown Kiev, whose advanced equipment and area (over 2000 m2) allow building a 30-meter podium and gathering over 19,000 visitors in 5 days of the Week. It will feature over 30 collections predominantly by Ukrainian designers. A distinctive feature of Seasons of Fashion Week is New Names, an individual first-timer show program.

The success of Ukrainian designers in Ukraine and abroad reveals the strong potential in this area of business. It is very important for such a young and actively developing country as Ukraine.
