The Fashion Design Council of Canada proudly presents CANADIAN COOL L'ORÉAL FASHION WEEK, Spring 2007 Collections
September 25, 2006, Toronto, Canada - The Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) has announced that L'Oréal Fashion Week Spring Collection 2007 will take place October 16th to October 22nd, 2006 at MUZIK (15 Saskatchewan Road) in Toronto. The weeklong event is Canada's premier showcase of fashion design talent. L'Oréal Fashion Week will present designers from across Canada, Los Angeles, Malta and Milan. The FDCC is pleased to announce relationships with Russian Fashion Week, World Fashion Week in Los Angeles, Fashion Technology Park in India and a new group spearheading trade shows in Tokyo and Paris.
This season, the FDCC welcomes designers: Andy Thé-Anh, Arthur Mendonça, Bustle, Common Cloth, Charles & Ron, Christine Phillips, DC Clothing, Dean Horn, Fashion Nation, Izzy Camilleri, Jason Matlo, Joe Fresh Style (off-site), Joeffer Caoc, Juma, Kavi Kavi, Paul Hardy (off-site), Pink Tartan (off-site) and Zoran Dobric. Katya Renevko, the winner of the New Labels competition will also present her collection. L'Oréal Fashion Week will feature installations from designers such as Marc Marmel, Foxy Originals, Elsa Reia and Pat MacDonagh as well as the new "Canadian Cool Made to Measure."
Esteemed Montreal fashion designer, Marie Saint Pierre will open L'Oréal Fashion Week and also debut in the event's first-ever style trend show, created by L'Oréal Paris and presented live on the runway opening night. Conceptualized by L'Oréal Paris' creative masterminds, Eddie Maleterre and Eric Del Monaco, Fragmented Time is a makeup and hair extravaganza that will explore emerging beauty trends and the creative process behind L'Oréal Paris' Spring 07 makeup collection, as well as showcase the work of over 20 Canadian fashion designers. French Connection, the retail brand, will close the week along with the Fashion Rocks the Runway on-site closing night party.
"This year the focus of our show is the 'democratization of participation,' says FDCC founder and President Robin Kay. "This form of democratic participation plainly states that every single one of us, as attendees to the week, become the CRITICAL force which participates in the Canadian Fashion industry." Daily runway themes are described as Tuesday's Canadian Cool Coast to Coast, Wednesday's Runway to Retail, Thursday's Street to High Style and Friday's Indie Designer Day.
