The Fashion Week in Moscow will take place in Moscow from 24 to 30 of October 2006. World’s fashion weeks, that take place on podiums in New York, London, Milan, Paris, will come to the end in Moscow. The Fashion Week in Moscow is held with supporting by the Moscow Government, Ministry of Economic Development and Commerce, the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The major world company VISA International became a presenting partner of the Fashion Week in Moscow for the next three years, and this emphasizes the event’s status one more time.
The global company’s coming to the market became a significant event for Russia. VISA is a pass into the fashion world. It is not only an opportunity to do efficient shopping in every country through out the world, but a method to promote new, progressive trends in business, sport and fashion as well. VISA International has realized plans of supporting of Russian designers. Thus the competition for the design of VISA Gold card was announced among participants into the Fashion week in Moscow.
The Fashion Week in Moscow considers the development of the fashion industry in Russia as its main mission. It becomes a reality due to cooperation with its partners - IMG, the largest world’s lifestyle marketing and management company. Leading fashion events are all the IMG’s clients. Among them are Olympus Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, Mercedes Australia Fashion Week in Melbourne and Sydney The Singapore Fashion Festival, India’s Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, Fashion Fringe in London, Fashion Week Mexico in Mexico City, Pakistan Fashion Week, etc.
The cooperation of IMG and Fashion Week in Moscow makes it possible to develop business in the fashion industry, based on the raising of recognition of Russian design, promotion of brands on the world market, for designers-participants into the event.
The key distinction of the Fashion Week in Moscow from other fashion events of such a level - is a multi-brand show-room (1500 sq. m) acting within the whole event. It is an ideal site for the developing of the fashion industry, where agents of major Russian and foreign trading network and mass media may see a collection, and first negotiations on future cooperation with a designer take place. Designer’s clothing, footwear, specially made accessory lines, which guests may see, are presented in the show-rooms.
In the new season, a number of events, taking place within the Fashion Week in Moscow will increase: a traditional reception in Metropole Restaurant is devoted to the opening of the Fashion Week in Moscow. The designers’ after-parties, become traditional, will be held daily, and the presenting partner VISA will gather VIP guests at the special evening party.
Moreover, in the coming season, the Fashion Week in Moscow will start to cooperate with the Russian Jewellers’ Guild. Now guests will be able to visit a new street on the map of the Fashion Week in Moscow - «Gold Street». Leading Russian Jewellery Houses, many of which have traditionally and successfully cooperated with designers-participants into the Week when creating new collection, will be presented there.
Participants, who are well-known not only in Russian, but beyond the country as well, are traditionally among the designers of the Fashion Week in Moscow. In this season, new names will be added to the event’s program, as well. In addition to the shows within the Fashion Week in Moscow, a series of special events will take place: press-conference and seminars. They will include press lunch, devoted to the charitable program, which AVON, the official partner of the Fashion Week in Moscow, has been realizing for some years.
In the new season, ITEC and Association of High Fashion and prêt-a-porter will present a «Higher EduFashion» project, devoted to the education in the fashion industry. In the context of the project, leading specialists of ‘fashion’ education institutions in Great Britain, France, Italy and USA, will visit the Fashion Week in Moscow
