One&Only Royal Mirage to be the venue for the Dubai International
Fashion Week
Dubai: Organisers of the Dubai International Fashion Week (DIFW) have named One&Only Royal Mirage as the venue for the event, which is seen by many in the trade as the region’s premier event for the fashion industry.
 The four-day event will begin on April 1st. The designers who have already committed their participation represent an international mix of talent, including JJ Valaya from India, Autandil Tsruitinidze from Georgia, Assanova Balnur from Kazakhstan, Hassan Shahyar Yasin from Pakistan, Kaneyoshi Kondo from Japan, UAE-based Mille Rostock and Meher Mirchandani and Lebanese born international designer Walid Atallah, who has been operating in Dubai since 1996.
The new schedule has been developed to fit in with the international fashion events, some of which are being held in the next few weeks, said Michael Panagiotakis of Concept Events, organisers of DIFW. He further added, "We have received an excellent response from the international fashion business community. Our focus to promote the regional talent has generated tremendous excitement, given the growing importance of Dubai as the regional fashion centre. DIFW is committed to working for the regional fashion industry and it is this mission which made us shift the dates to accommodate the international buyers."
