Coca-Cola Light Zambia Fashion Week 2007: Real Style…
Final preparations are underway for the Coca-Cola Light Zambia Fashion Week 2007, to be held at Alliance Française in Lusaka from October 22-27 (Independence Week).
The show – now in its third year – will showcase the talents of ten of Zambia’s top fashion designers including Coretta Arnold, Dodo Wear Designers, Verona Gordon,
Faith Kabende, Mary Kaira, Trudy Kaumba, Angela Mulenga, Charity Mwakilima, Nada, Veronica Sampa.
 The show aims to be a fresh, funky and fun platform to highlight Zambia’s creativity.
It takes its inspiration from similar fashion weeks in London, Cape Town and Paris, but with a full-on Zambian flavour. Entry is free.
“We are really excited about this year’s Zambia Fashion Week,” said organiser Gillian Baker, publisher of Beauty Zambia magazine. “A whirlwind of energy, effort and preparation has gone into this year’s event. We have a number of new designers featured, a great new venue, and a series of shows that promise an experience to
remember.”
The country’s leading models will be gracing the catwalk, including reigning Miss Zambia 2005 Precious Mumbi, Face of Africa 2005 finalist Mirriam Jaulani, Model of the World Africa Lonah Shawa and Face of the Universe finalist Foster Chewe.
Lunchtime and evening shows will be held at Alliance Française, Alick Nkhata Road, Lusaka throughout the week (at 13hrs and 18hrs everyday), culminating in a Grand
Finale on Saturday, October 27. Bubbly radio presenter Karen Nakawala will be compère throughout the week.
The event is being organised by Beauty Zambia magazine with support from Coca-Cola Light, Dark & Lovely, Standard Chartered Bank and Holiday Inn.
