Another such example is De Couture which now boasts as many as 40 sales points, having originally started out with 25, and a considerable increase in turnover both in Italy and abroad. Others still have built up their collections, initiated working relationships with A-list designers, such as Sergio Zambon who is collaborating with Fendi for the menswear, and won prizes and awards in this sector.
From the approximately 100 applications of the first edition of ‘Who is on Next?’ to the current 200and more, it is estimated that, for the next edition, applications for participation are likely to double. A launch pad without precedent in the panorama of Italian fashion.
As far as all young Italian and foreign designers are concerned, this project represents an extremely important and rapid means of establishing contacts that are fundamental for their professional growth. And not only, the competition also offers the fantastic opportunity of sharing the catwalk experience with renowned designers, historic names in haute couture, designers who have inspired these young talents and given them a passion for creativity, research and the preservation of haute couture working techniques.
