MADE-BY annual report 2008
 The year 2008 in spite of the economic crisis was a successful year for MADE-BY: new brands became members, among which was Claudia Sträter and the new Bijenkorf label Pure. In march 2008 the office in Germany opened and in December the MADE-BY Label UK was officially registered in London. Besides that as much as 38 new suppliers were linked to the MADE-BY network, as a result of which the impact of the activities of MADE-BY and the affiliated brands has grown substantially.
 Enclosed you’ll find the annual report with a retrospective of activities of 2008. New is the third scorecard which in addition to the scorecards on social circumstances and the use of organic cotton, also provides information about the environmental impact of the raw materials that brands’ have used. The foundation for this scorecard was a benchmark in which over twenty materials were classified based on six criteria. It is a perfect tool for brands to design their collections even more sustainably and for consumers to gain better insight into the efforts the brands’ are taking to make their collections sustainable. |
