Jan 27-30, 2008, Munich, Germany |
European Fashion Award
Fash 2008
Prize of the Foundation of the German Clothing Industry
“Attitude” is the topic of the European Fashion Award "Fash 2008" of the German Apparel Industry Foundation (SDBI). The task is to design clothing in tune
with the environment and social conditions, which provide expression to both esthetic and ethical attitudes. Submissions can explore relevant partial solutions, but they can also deal with complete visions and even post-industrial strategies.
This pan-European contest is open to especially talented design students of all disciplines starting from the fourth semester. The categories of regular students and those preparing for their degree examination will be distinguished for the first time this year. The registration deadline is 3 December 2007, and the submission deadline is
8 January 2008.
A jury composed of internationally experienced experts from design, retailing, marketing and media will select the prizewinners from the works according to set criteria. A total of 9,500 euros, five fabric vouchers worth 500 euros each from the Swiss Textile Association and paid six-month internships at Falke (Schmallenberg), Schumacher (Mannheim) and a company of the Otto Group will be awarded as prizes.
The prizewinning works will be presented to the international fashion trade and the media at ispovision winter 08 - International Trade Show for Sportstyle from 27 to 30 January.
The European Fashion Award "Fash" is presented by the German Apparel Industry Foundation (SDBI) annually. The foundation was founded by the fashion entrepreneur Klaus Steilmann in 1978. The goal of the non-profit foundation is pioneering promotion of the next generation.
