The European Film Awards
Founded in 1989, the European Film Academy (EFA) currently unites 1,700 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting European film culture. Throughout the year, the EFA initiates and participates in a series of activities dealing with film politics as well as economic, artistic, and training aspects. The programme includes conferences, seminars and workshops, and a common goal is to build a bridge between creativity and the industry. These activities culminate in the annual presentation of the European Film Awards. |
In 2006, the European Film Awards travelled to Eastern Europe for the first time. With a total of fifteen award categories, the 19th European Film Awards took place in Warsaw on December 2.
The European Film Academy and EFA Productions GmbH will present the 20th European Film Awards in Berlin on December 1, 2007. |
