EU Young Fashion Summit 2006

The universal language FASHION is connecting Europe
EU Young Fashion Summit 2006 on May 16 in Vienna
For the first time ever, 25 young European fashion designers collectively present their visions.
Within the diversity of the 25 European Member States there is a common language: fashion. In the area of conflict between regional roots and global influences each country features fashion designers who nationally and internationally mark individuality and identity.
Fashion – that’s not only the creations and collections of the big couturiers. Fashion is the expression of attitude to life, selfworth, phantasy, joy of exploring and spirit. Fashion is an expression of tomorrow, of future.
The “EU Young Fashion Summit 2006” is the first summit meeting of young designers who have the courage to express their imaginations in fashion and to establish on an international stage. This meeting brings a specific facet of culture to the fore, which is a contemporary assertion and expression of European plurality.
“The Sound of Europe is the sum of its languages, songs, pictures, passions, misunderstandings and commonalities; of its stories, its excitement, its dreams, its convictions, its poetry, its architecture and its vogues.
Fashion is one of the draperies our everyday life is sewed of: fashion is architecture on the body,” commented the State Secretary for the Arts and Media, Mr Franz Morak, on the EU Young Fashion Summit which is to take place within the framework of the Austrian EU Presidency on May 16, at 7 p.m. in the Vienna Hofburg.
The evening fashion show is going to present on stage the ideas of the 25 participants of all EU Member States, followed by the NEW YORK-presentation of the well-known Austrian designer Atil Kutoglu, coming from the Republic of Turkey.
25 times European power, 25 times European start-up, 25 times European future. |
