CPM – Collection Première Moscow
Feb 27-Mar 2, 2007, Moscow, Russia

CPM – Collection Première Moscow fully booked again despite Considerable Extension to Exhibition Space

Eastern Europe is once again at the focus of the international clothing industry. Despite considerable extension to exhibition space the 8th edition of CPM – Collection Première Moscow (27 February to 2 March 2007) is again fully booked. CPM thereby impressively underlines its role as the leading international fashion fair in Eastern Europe.

CPM – Collection Première Moscow offers a concentrated overview of women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, lingerie and beachwear, fur and leather wear, young fashion, bridal and evening wear plus accessories to the over 16,300 trade visitors from Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia and the bordering CIS states expected to attend this event. Over 1,200 brands from 34 countries will be presenting their 2007/2008 Autumn/Winter collections on the 50,100 m²’ total exhibition space of the Krasnaya Presnaya Expocentr in the heart of Moscow. CPM has extended its exhibition space by 19,350 m² (+ 63%) over the last event. The Igedo Company is also expecting to increase exhibition space further in September 2007 in view of the great demand from exhibitors.

For the 8th edition of CPM – Collection Première Moscow organisers at the Igedo Company have extended the range: manufacturers of bridal and evening wear will now be presented for the first time in their own segment in the CPM Wedding segment in Hall 5.2. Those attending from Spain include for example Maria Coca, De la Cierva by Nicolas, Model Novias and Villais by Sarah Bride. Other exhibitors like Weise, Donner and Kleemeier from Germany, Aftershock from Great Britain and Guisso Haute Couture from Lebanon are also to be found in Hall 5.2.

”The success of CPM and the constant rise in demand from both visitors and exhibitors show us we are on the right track,“ explained Frank Hartmann, Managing Director of the Igedo Company, a company of the Messe Düsseldorf Group. “A study carried out by the E.F.T.E.C./ITMM on the clothing exports of key EU supplier countries to Russia for January to September 2006 showed that German clothing exports to Russia have risen by 29%. The Russian market is quite clearly the foreign market generating the most interest.“ This is also demonstrated by the German joint stand at CPM – Collection Première Moscow which, with its 4,200 m², is the largest joint participation of German exhibitors ever. The Italians follow with 3,700 m². Exports have long been promoters of growth in the clothing industry. Eastern Europe, and Russia in particular, have for years been a focal point of interest for the industry, said Hartmann, adding that the development seen at CPM was the best example of this.

After the great success of CPM Kids the younger ones amongst us will now also be making a grand entrance in Moscow in February/March. The who’s who of children’s and babies’ wear will be featured in their own hall at the fair – Hall 3.
Presenting their Autumn/Winter collections here to buyers will be renowned exhibitors like Airfield, Big Fun, Exact, Kanz, Kenzo, Losan, Mayoral, Monnalisa, Patrizia Pepe Bambini, Rapife Baby, Sanetta, Trussardi Kids, Tuc Tuc and many more.

Expansion to CPM Kids will be rounded off by the segment’s own fair catalogue helping buyers in this segment find the exhibitors they are looking for. Hall 3 will also boast its own catwalk. The Spanish “Asepri“ association for manufacturers of children’s products will be presenting its fashion show “Children’s Fashion from Spain“ here which has now become a real crowd-puller. The Igedo Company is also planning a CPM Kids Catwalk for the first time. For many international associations and manufacturers of children’s wear CPM Kids is an ideal platform for finding new sales markets in Eastern Europe. The Igedo Company is assisted here by the European association for children’s wear and child welfare, Children’s Fashion Europe.

However, the other halls of CPM – Collection Première Moscow also promise to be equally interesting: presented in Hall 1 will be Russian exhibitors and representatives of international brands in men’s and women’s wear. These will include exhibitors like Bäumler, Bestseller, Bruphils, Elena Miro, Frijs & Company, Meucci, Stefanel and the firm Olitex with its Texmann and Bertoni brands, to name but a few.

Alongside the predominantly German firms the forum will also feature collections from Austria and the Netherlands such as Bugatti, Cerruti, Giesswein, Kapalua, Lagerfeld, Otto Kern, Sportalm, Teidem, Van Gils and newcomers Anja Gockel and Marina Yachting.

Hall 7 is traditionally home to national participations from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Denmark and Turkey. Due to the great demand from Italian exhibitors Pavilion 2 was also built for the 8th edition of CPM with total space of 1,125 m².

CPM Lingerie featuring on approx. 1,400 m²’ gross exhibition space in Halls 5.1 and 5.2 will include the following lingerie firms: Viana Rösch, Conzelmann, Berlini, Free Vogue, Cagi, Rieker, Helen, ISA, Edmund Lutz, Charoit, Bikini, Gueta, Schmidt, Naturana and Ajour. The number of exhibitors has doubled since the last fair.
Alongside lingerie firms from France, Greece, Italy, Poland and Switzerland numerous western European brands will now also be taking part in this the 8th edition of CPM.

So as to provide an overview of the forthcoming trends in the fashion sector the Igedo Company offers a varied programme of events which, alongside the popular fashion shows in the Hall of Design (Hall 4), also includes a polished series of seminars on the current developments in the Russian retail clothing trade held in the Marble Hall specially hired out for this event. Awaiting visitors alongside the daily CPM Catwalk show at 11.00 am will be the ”Fashion from Finland“ and “Fashion Brands from Portugal“ fashion shows. However, there will also be designer shows, too – like that of the famous Russian couturier Slava Zaitsev.

Moscow is advancing with giant strides in the fashion sector. Since the start of CPM
in September 2003 the Igedo Company has invested heavily in the German-Russian
design exchange. With the sponsorship scheme “Fashion Axis Düsseldorf – Moscow“ creative young Russian designers are given the opportunity of showcasing their fashion both in Moscow and at the Igedo Fashion Fairs. The Russian designers Oleg Biryukov and Swetlana Tegin will be presenting their fashion at a fashion show at the Catwalk Café at CPD Düsseldorf. The two designers’ collections can also be found at CPD’s Fashion Gallery in Hall 14 on Stand E 58. Also featuring at CPM – Collection Première Moscow alongside Swetlana Tegin and Oleg Biryukov will be the young talents Max Chernitsov and GarettFOREVER with a joint fashion show. An all-new cooperation has now been initiated with Russia’s very famous design contest “Russian Silhouette Charity Foundation Award“. The winner of this award has the unique opportunity to gather initial experience at a trade fair stand sponsored by the Igedo Company at CPM and CPD.

A further popular highlight is the CPM Fashion Night which is traditionally held on the first evening of the fair at trendy Moscow club. The sector meets here at this international get-together to exchange current news in a relaxed and informal setting.

The 9th edition of CPM – Collection Première Moscow will be held from 4 to
7 September 2007, as usual on the grounds of the Expocentr. Further information
