Artissima 13

Artissima 13 will take place from November the 10th to the 12th, 2006 (preview and vernissage on November the 9th) at Lingotto Fiere venue, in Turin. Artissima, a trademark of Regione Piemonte, Provincia di Torino, Città di Torino, is promoted by Fondazione Torino Musei, the Turin Museums' Foundation.

• 150 galleries: in a vibrant and exclusive project that melts the most outstanding names of the worldwide scene and the new generations’ languages, the galleries representing consolidated artists and projects up to the cutting edge galleries engaged in the extremely recent and alternative researches. |

• Present Future: the section reserved to emerging artists will be since this year on
invitation. Three young and consolidated international curators will invite 15 young talents to present an own new project at Artissima.
• New Entries: the section devoted to young galleries (opened after 2001 and for the first time in Artissima), selected by the Board of Directors and the Consulting Committee, will propose the more experimental and avant-garde art trends.
• Constellations: a scenic display area inside the Fair will host the section destined to big dimensions artworks with a museological ambition, selected by a prestigious committee.
• Institutions & magazines: special reserved areas will give the opportunity to visit and get in touch with museums, foundations, cultural institutions as well as the most
representatives Italian and foreign art magazines and on line publishers. |

• Cultural Programme: 3 intense days of conversations, workshops, events and encounters with the greatest personalities of contemporary art worldwide will be organized under the direction of the Fair’s Scientific Committee.
• Listen to the writer: the special Fair’s guided tours led by prestigious Italian art
journalists, that proved very successful in 2005, will be proposed again to Artissima 13 visitors.
• Turin: contemporary art will be the protagonist in the city during Artissima. Major
exhibitions in the museums, foundations and the other local artistic venues, “Luci d’Artista” (artists’ light installations) in the streets and squares downtown, night opening of the city’s galleries for the “Saturday Night Art Fever” event. |

• Collectors: 200 top international collectors, museum directors and curators will be invited by Artissima, involved in a rich programme of visits to the Fair, meetings and events with the galleries and Turin’s art institutions. |

• Turin: contemporary art protagonist in the city during Artissima. Major exhibitions in the museums, foundations and the other local artistic venues, “Luci d’Artista” (artists’ light installations) in the streets and squares downtown, night opening of the city’s galleries for the “Saturday Night Art Fever”.
• Scientific Committee: in 2006 the Committee will be co-ordinated by David A. Ross, one of the most influent representative of the international museums’ scene, in co-operation with the permanent members, Ida Gianelli, Director Castello di Rivoli, Museum of Contemporary Art and Pier Giovanni Castagnoli, Director GAM, City Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, Turin.
• Board of Directors and Consulting Committee: a group of outstanding gallery directors and collectors, members of the Fair’s two consulting bodies, will be responsible for the selection of the galleries exhibiting at Artissima 13.
• Constellations’ and Present Future’s Boards: six internationally renowned museum directors and curators were appointed for curating the two special Fair’s sections.
Artissima 13 is promoted and coordinated by Fondazione Torino Musei, with the support of Regione Piemonte, Provincia di Torino and Città di Torino, and of Turin Chamber of Commerce, Fondazione CRT and Compagnia di San Paolo. The Fair is organized by Associazione Artissima.
