On 30 and 31 July 2006 the fashion fair A FAIR will be held in Antwerp for the second time. New this edition is the unique initiative A FAIR BENELUX FASHION DESIGNERS, a project with which A FAIR gives a platform to Benelux fashion talent. Also Irish fashion designers give their very best.
A FAIR, the meeting place for fashion professionals
 Fashion is creativity, stimulating the imagination, reinventing oneself each season. And that is precisely what A FAIR stands for. A FAIR looks for the trends of the near future, picks up on exciting new fashion labels and presents them in a clearly-organised fair concept together with a selection of established (inter-)national fashion names and other lifestyle products with a high design content. Besides business, A FAIR also pays attention to pleasure, because naturally there is also room for celebration and show. More detailed information is to be confirmed but we already know for sure that the Italian label Frankie Morello will bring a fabulous fashion show during the official opening evening.
Thus A FAIR once again guarantees on July 30th and 31st an exciting two-day fashion event custom-tailored to the fashion professional. An international-level fashion event.
A unique concept
The Waagnatie forms theperfectbaseofoperationsfor this innovativefairfor fashion professionals.A FAIRisa 6,000m2 creative environment based on a unique concept. The fair is conceived as a trendy boutique with attention for fashion and lifestyle. Established fashion values stand side by side with hip, upcoming brands and books, CDs and mobile telephones.
The public discovers the new trends for spring/summer 2007 in the stylish, personal and distinctive corners. The emphasis is placed not on the layout of the fair, but on the over one hundred collections.
All stands are at shoulder level, so that the visitor always preserves an overview of the whole fair.

A FAIR BENELUX FASHION DESIGNERS
In order to give Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourg designers a chance to be present at a leading, international fair, A FAIR developed the “BENELUX FASHION DESIGNERS” project. The intention is to support eight talented designers from the Benelux by offering them the possibility to present their universe to fashion professionals during A FAIR.
A FAIR does this in two ways:
- the eight Benelux designers get a free stand of 20 m2 (value: 5,000 euro)
- the DESIGNERS AGAINST AIDS project for the benefit of a project to help orphins with AIDS in St Petersburg
The designers for Belgium are Violetta & Vera Pepa, Romy Smits, Sandrine Fasoli and Girls from Omsk.
For the Netherlands it will be Percy Irausquin, WOLF/Francisco van Benthum, Bas Kosters and Monique van Heist.
Designers Against Aids
 The participants in the “BENELUX FASHION DESIGNERS” project design a t-shirt within the framework of the DESIGNERS AGAINST AIDS project. Together the t-shirts form a unique fashion collection which is presented during A FAIR´s opening event.
Afterwards the t-shirts are sold at Enes in Antwerp. All of the proceeds from the sale goes to a project to help orphins with AIDS in St Petersburg.
Stand concept
A FAIR reserved an exclusive space in a central location for this project. In order to highlight the prestigious character, the stands are created in black and adorned with a special, gold-coloured logo. The space of this project therefore stands out at the fair, which is otherwise largely in white. A board is placed at each stand bearing the logo followed by the last name of the designer in gold letters.
A FAIR, Irish talent comes to Belgium
Earlier Enterprise Ireland promoted Irish fashion talent at notorious European fashion events such as the London Fashion Week, Pure London, Prêt-à-porter Paris and Who’s Next. This season they choose A FAIR, by far the most trendy fashion fair of the Benelux, to present the collections of Irelands most talented fashion designers. More news about the participating fashion designers is announced as soon as possible!
A FAIR, a professional organisation
 Dragonfly Dream organises the fashion fair for New Luxury Brands A FAIR. This
company was formed by four fashion agents and clothing manufacturers: Roger
Elsten, Muriel Van Nieuwenhove, Hugo Denizli and Matthys Vos. From their fashion background this company developed a unique concept.
Quality is the most important strength offered by A FAIR: a professional organisation, a clearly-organised stand concept, the right brands and the right dynamic vibe.
A successful concept, it would appear, because the first edition of A FAIR in January 2006 did extremely well. 135 selected brands took part and did good business.They received 3,000 visitors, 97% of whom came from Belgium and the Netherlands. Already from its first edition A FAIR was able to acquire a reputation as the trendiest fair in the Benelux.
A FAIR turns fashion into party
A FAIR stands for fashion and business but also pleasure. That’s why Frankie Morello gives a marvellous fashion show on Sunday July 30th.
Maurizio Modica and Pierfrancesco Gigliotti, the designers behind the Italian label, manage to turn fashion into party season after season. During the fashion show they have Belgian and Dutch celebrities showing their innovating designs, inspired by
their dog Frankie.
A 500 m2 tent next to the Waagnatie is the perfect backdrop for this grand fashion show. This will be followed by the A FAIR party. This exclusive opening evening is upon invitation only.
A FAIR sounds like music
After a successful first A FAIR cd, presented at the former edition of the fashion trade fair, A FAIR launches a brand new cd in collaboration with MINI and Cinédelic.The music is a mix of contemporary lounge, soft dance and vintage tunes and will be played at the fair.This special CD will naturally also be on sale.
